Construction worker arrested in $8m clothing store robbery
PORTLAND, Jamaica – A construction worker has been charged for reportedly stealing over $8 million worth of clothing items from a store on Williams Street, Portland on Monday, December 5.
Charged is 26-year-old Sashane Kennedy, otherwise called ‘Hundred’ or ‘Six’ of Hall’s Avenue in the parish.
Reports are that about 9:30 am, the complainant received a telephone call informing her that her shop was broken into.
The complainant then went to her business and discovered that clothing and shoes were missing. The value of the stolen items is estimated to be $8,254,500.
During the investigation, police tracked the stolen items to Kennedy, who was found with several in his possession.
He was subsequently charged with shop-breaking and larceny.
